REBLOG: WeAreLove.us: IMPORTANT (and WIN SOMETHING TOO!)
I never reblog— so you gotta know, when I do, that it’s important. And. This. IS. Important.
Come to think of it, reblog this and you might just WIN something. We need to spread the word. So here’s the rules I just made up:
Spread the word one of three ways:
1) re-blog this here within Tumblr-land
2) tweet it (send me a tweet so I can find you @awesomebARTon)
3) post it to your Facebook (tag my art page http://www.facebook.com/thehonestyrevolution so I can find you).
I’ll pick somebody at random and I’ll hand-paint you a badass Klean Kanteen (http://www.kleankanteen.com/) and send it to you. Totally free. Unless you live on another planet (wicked shipping charges.) You can even let me know what kind of stuff you like (dinosaurs, words, etc) so it’s tailored to you. I’ll probably pick someone mid-February.
NOW… The eloquent Cole Ramstad says it better then I, so: read on, good people!
Quite possibly one of the most important things I’ve ever written about.
The thing about Tapped, is that it’s easy to explain the need to know facts of this poignant documentary in about two minutes.
Bottled water companies are cutting off local waterways, charging residents for nature’s water, using without giving back, and turning water into a commodity. If we don’t pay attention, water will be the new oil. Coke and Pepsi will be the new OPEC.
Most bottled water comes from the tap. No argument against it.
Bottled water is not even close to as clean as tap water. In a city with 3 million people, the municipal water supply is tested 300 times a month. If a city has 5 million, that number doubles. Bottled water companies are not required to report their tests to anyone. It’s voluntary submission and voluntary testing. As long as no one dies, it doesn’t matter if their is poop in your water. I know what I would rather drink.
Bottled water is absolutely killing the environment. The cost of convenience is a high one. The attitude of “I’ll use it temporarily then throw it away” is going to cost us our place to live.
Bottled water is killing us. Watch the film for the gigantic list of what’s in bottled water, and more importantly what chemical are in the plastics that contain it. It’s absolutely horrifying.
I’ll be the first to admit that bottled water is going to be hard habit to break, but it is absolutely necessary. It’s quite clear that this is something that needs to shoved in the faces of our leaders. There is a ton of money involved, so politicians will be hard pressed to make anything happen, but this is about protecting citizens, protecting life, and maintaining our future.
Watch this film. It’s incredibly well made, and if it doesn’t make you want to contact all of your loved ones to share it, you should do some soul negotiating. This is a battle that has be fought now. If it goes on too long, we won’t have a shot in hell.
Watch it. See for yourself. Spread it. Let’s do something about it. We can.

Happy Holidays Friends and Friendlies!
I might go into a cocoon for a few days for excessive hugging of family. I promise to emerge as a butterfly. A butterfly with a bunch of new art.
